Find: Video - Fernanda Viégas and Martin Wattenberg at PdF2010

A few weeks ago, Fernanda Viégas and Martin Wattenberg from Flowing Media presented some of their works-in-progress at the Personal Democracy Forum PdF2010.

For a straightforward data visualization talk, Fernanda and Martin actually received quite a lot of laughs. At the start, they showed the intrinsics of human anxieties through their visualization "Web Seer" (original post at infosthetics). In addition, they demonstrated a new "hand-crafted" interface called "Twitter Trending Topics in the U.S." that compares some of the trending Twitter topics to the race of the people posting them. Lastly, they gave a sneak preview of a visualization titled "Visualizing Conversations at Twitter", which sorts different conversations by hashtags and reveals the overlapping and outlying hashtags within political conversations.

While you are at it, you can also read a recent (written) interesting interview for ACM Queue with Jeff Heer, Fernanda Viégas and Martin Wattenberg.

Watch the movie below!

Thnkx Adam.
